Another Butterfly Mani
I loved my blue monarch butterfly mani so much that I had to do it again in a different color. I am going to keep this short and sweet today because it is going to be ein the 90's today and I will be spending the day outside in the sun! Here it is:
I used 2 coats of WnW Fast Dry in Ocean Grotto which is a new polish from their Mermaid Cove collection. I then used my two-way nail art pens in black and white to create the lines and dots. Those pens work so well for dotting! Then as usual I layered a nice coat of SV over the whole thing. This green is so pretty, if you are a sucker for green polish like I am then you must have this one. It has very fine gold shimmer in it. Happy Memorial day to everyone :)

My first Crackle Nail Polish...
I went to Sally's for the first time... yeah I know what is wrong with me for never going into that store until now?? I picked up a few things like a glass file (which I love) a giant thing of pure acetone, some mini polishes (will post pics soon) and China Glaze Crackle in Broken Hearted. I have seen the crackle polishes everywhere and felt like I had to have just one... even though I am not a huge fan of the crackle look. They only had the pink and the white... so I went with the pink because I can't resist pink. I really wish I would have gotten the white now because it would go with more colors. I might have to go back and get it. Ok enough talking here is the mani:

So for this mani I used 1 coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme wear Celeb City which is super shiny metallic silver and then 2coats of Cover Girl Goddess which is a holo glitter. Once that was dry I put on 1 fairly thin coat of the crackle. I think I could have even done a thinner coat cause it didn't crackle as much as I wanted it to. I played with it a little more after this mani and it seems like the thinner the coat the more it crackles. I am still deciding on whether or not I like the crackle. At first I really didn't like it but after wearing it for a couple days it is starting to grow on me. Also I apologize for the shrinkage on the tips... I forgot to wrap the tips :(

White, Blue, and Yellowe Flower mani
Ok before you even look at the pictures please read this: These pictures were taken 3 days after doing the mani :( Somehow I completely forgot to take pictures of these until 3 days later and after scrubbing my entire bathroom. Ok now that you know that you can look at the pictures with terrible tip wear. Even though they look like crap I still wanted to share these with you.
When I fist did this mani I only stamped on the white flowers... I found them to be so incredibly boring, probably because I did this mani right after my filled in butterfly mani. I had to add something more to the mani so I used one of my small brushes to add in some yellow to the flowers.

For this mani I used two coats of NXY Ink Heart which is a very pretty blue jelly. Then using Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Whirlwind White, I stamped on the flowers from BM-221. After being incredibly bored by the mani I added in the yellow using acrylic paint. The acrylic paint is very easy to work with when you use it over SV. If you mess up at all you can just wipe it off without ruining the mani. I topped the whole thing with SV.

Helmer!!!
I got a Helmer!!! I am so excited about this. I moved all of my polish from those stupid plastic bins to the brand new Helmer! Since I dumped out all of my polish, I decided to retake the pictures of my polishes for my collections page. It should be up by the end of the week. I did not like that the pictures had different backgrounds in them (yes I am that OCD)
Here are some pics of my Helmer:
I lined each drawer with a kitchen drawer liner so the polishes do not slide around. This thing holds nail polish perfectly! I don't have any bottles that are too tall for this thing. The bottom drawer looks messy because those bottles are too light to stand up in the drawer, they do fit in the drawer though. How do you organize your polishes?
Here are some pics of my Helmer:
This first one is my pile of polish before I started organizing:
Art Deco polishes, Nail treatments, top coats etc.

Snake Skin Nail Design
So that new Funky Fingers polish has been calling my name. The name of the polish is Snake skin... so I did a snake skin design :) Also figured I would take some pictures of the design with my red tailed boa! Her name is Calypso and she is currently over 5 feet long! I know the nails don't match her perfectly but I still like them! Maybe someday I will do a mani to match her colors :)
I apologize to anyone who is afraid of snakes!
I apologize to anyone who is afraid of snakes!
This is two coats of Funky Fingers Snake Skin, then one coat of L.A.Girl Rock Star Crowd Surfing which is a flakie polish that also had very fine green glitter in it! You have to look very closely at the pictures to see the flakes. In person the flakes are more noticeable. I used plate BM- 215 to stamp the snake skin design in WnW Black Creme. I topped the whole thing with SV as usual.
Note: This FF polish would have probably covered in one coat if I had done it neatly. The polish had a very nice consistency and went on smoothly. The only problem that I had was that it took a long time to dry. I put SV on before stamping to make it dry faster but the top layer of SV just slid around when I stamped it. Has anyone had this problem of the bottom polish not drying and then the top coat sliding around... If so how did you avoid it??

The colors are Snakeskin, Kenyan Sunset (slight holo) and Golden Coast.
This one did not have a name except for Dark pink to Light pink... lame lol
Closeups of each:
I am really liking the Funky Fingers polish :) It is so fun!! The bottles are fun too.

Some Flower Photography
Since I do not want to take off my butterfly mani I will share some photography with you :) I hope you don't mind the occasional photography post.
I really like taking pictures of flowers so here a few of my photos:

This flower was very tiny, only about the size of a quarter.

Sticking with the Butterfly Mani
I loved my last butterfly mani so much that I wanted to stick with the butterfly theme. I also really wanted a chance to use my new brushes. I had seen a stamped butterfly somewhere out there that had been colored in with a different color and I remember thinking that it looked really pretty. I wasn't going to be happy with just one butterfly though so I did a whole bunch... 30 to be exact. After doing the butterflies I also decided to add some pink flowers. This design makes me think of a coloring book :)
For this mani I used two coats of WnW French White Creme. I stamped the designs using WnW Black Creme. The designs are from MASH set M20 and M60 as well as from Fauxnad plate B21. I then used the four art deco polishes pictured above to fill in the designs using my smallest nail brush. I topped the whole thing with SV as usual.

Butterfly to go with my Butterfly Mani
So today I played paintball and while walking down to the field I found a butterfly that could not fly. I think it got wet from the rain so I picked it up to move it onto a tree. As I was picking it up I realized that it had blue on it and that it matched my nails!!! I had to have a picture of it :) Sorry but I have my paintball gloves on in the pictures because I didn't have time to take them off (I think it looks even cooler lol) Finding this butterfly that matched my nails made my day!
This is the best picture that I got:
Me in my paintball gear:
I managed to only chip 1 nail while playing paintball! I did however get attacked by mosquitoes and I now have 15 bug bites on my arms ( Yes I counted them). It was fun and I hit my boyfriend with a paintball :) He also hit me with one in the face.

Monarch Butterfly Mani
I have been wanting to do this mani for a while and now that I have nail art pens I decided to do it!! I haven't posted in a couple days due to blogger being down but it is finally back up!! I don't know if there are blue monarch butterflies in nature but I decided to go with blue for this mani! Sorry but there are lots of pictures of this mani because I love it so much!
For this mani I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen HD in Spectrum which is a very pretty duo-chrome! It was very hard to capture but it changes from green to blue to purple depending on the angle you look at it! I then drew on the butterfly design using a black nail art pen. Then I added the white dots using a white nail art pen. I topped the whole thing with a coat of SV. Everyone commented on these nails at work! These nails were definitely a hit. I plan on doing more of these butterfly designs and may possibly do a tutorial for these if anyone would be interested.
